Sculpted Cake: Bass Fishing Boat

Here is another fun cake we created recently....drum roll...a bass boat!

We always joke about how difficult men's cakes are to do without a theme and when a fishing fiend's birthday came about a bass fishing boat was the way to go.

Other cakes at the Boston Flower show...

Here are just a few of the other cakes at the Boston Flower show. There were more but I don't have good pictures of them, and I'm sorry, but I also don't have the locations of where they came from! I'm a bad blogger....

We created these fun and funky whimsical cupcakes for an Alice in Wonderland themed birthday party in Assonet, Massachusetts.

Bold colored cupcakes designs included "This Way" and "Eat Me" sugar coins along with whimsical and bold colored flowers and leaves. These mad hatter style cupcakes are a great addition to bridal showers or children's birthday parties and even afternoon tea.

Green Baby Shower @ Sippican Cafe, Marion Massachusetts

We created these 'green' themed baby shower cupcakes with hyacinths, frogs, ferns and green frosting.

Handmade sugar frogs adorned the top of cupcakes, while hand painted fern coins with fluted edges covered other cupcakes, and small white hyacinth flowers topped other cupcakes.

This stand was created for an intimate baby shower at the tasty breakfast, lunch and dinner spot: Sippican Cafe in nearby Marion, MA

Round Buttercream Birthday Cake: Where in the World?

This cake was created for a Wedding Rehearsal Dinner. The couple are avid travelers so the cake included a world map and tacks to mark their vacation locations.
We also included sugar pieces to indicate their hobbies: cooking, gardening and travel.

The cake is a buttercream cake with sugar art designs. The cake flavor included carrot cake.

We received this nice note from the party planner...

Dear Meredith,

I have been meaning to write and keep getting side tracked (Mother's Day Tiara 5K Road Race is coming up). The cake was beautiful, delicious and captured perfectly the vibe we wanted to have. Thank you so much!! Everyone loved the cake, and I look forward to future occasions so I can order again. Really splendid!!!

Round Buttercream Cake: The Marriage of "Q" & "U"

Bev, is the mom here at the bakery, and actually she is Meredith, the owner's, Mom. Sometimes she has some pretty funny requests, mostly due to the fact that she is a kindergarten teacher. And ever the kindergarten teacher she requested a cake for the marriage of the letters "Q" and "U" that she will be celebrating with her class at Rochester Memorial School tomorrow. Don't you wish your kindergarten teacher was that cool!

She even requested that the cake be all in white- no joke!

So here is it folks, a wedding cake for the letters "Q" and "U"....

Bridal Shower CupCakes

These blue hydrangea cupcakes were inspired by a wedding cake we did a few years ago where we created Flourless Chocolate XS Cakes for a wedding in Newport, RI. A small cake sat as the centerpiece of each table in lieu of A floral arrangement, candles or table number. The sisters who were ordering dessert for a friends bridal shower decided to forgo the traditional floral centerpiece at each table and instead use the cupcakes as centerpieces.

Mna

The blue hydrangea cupcakes were frosted in vanilla buttercream with tiny blue hydrangea flowers and included vanilla butter cake and devilish chocolate cake along with our new flavor "Blood Orange Poppy"!
