Flared & Funky Whimsical Engagement Party Cake
We created this tone on tone flared fondant tiered cake for a recent engagement party. White fondant covers the tiers and overlay sugarpaste is hand painted in luster pearl. Bold jewel toned whimsical five petal flowers add a little bit of fun to the design.

Jewel Toned Wedding Cake @ Indian Pond Country Club, Kingston, Massachusetts
I have officially found my favorite wedding & event venue on the South Shore: Indian Pond Country Club @ 60 Country Club Road in Kingston, Massachusetts.
This place is a stunner, we drove the pine-lined drive which opened up to a gorgeous clubhouse and the only word my assistant and I uttered was: "Wow!".
Shades of ivory and small details like raised panel walls, two elaborate mahogany bars, and a high chair rail make the ballroom something reminiscent of Newport, Rhode Island-- however the view of the rolling greens and tall pine trees remind you that you actually are standing on the South Coast of Massachusetts.
The flowers by my new find: Bella Flora by Alexis out of Bridgewater, Massachusetts were breathtaking jewel tones all in seasonal blossoms!

The cake: an ivory four-tier buttercream cake with small piping details: swirl, five petal flowers and scroll work. The decor: seasonal blooms in dark orange, reds, purples, magenta pink, chartreuse green. The blooms: dahlias, zinnias, dendrobium orchids, green spider mums, & spray roses.

A small detail which "made" the whole setup was the hand guilded two-tiered gold board on which the cake sat. This gold pulled from the gold chairs in the ballroom and the gold rimmed chargers set at each guests place setting!
The cake flavor to match the jewel toned wedding: vanilla butter cake with layers of raspberry marmalade and apricot marmalade.
