The Marine & His Bride
We were touched to be able to create a elegantly patriotic wedding cake for a marine and his bride. The wedding colors were red, white and blue but the bride wanted something elegant with her favorite flowers: calla lillies. As I sketched cakes for Erin, I came up with the idea of fondant draping to look like a wedding dress along with silver bow loops, white calla lillies and blue lily of the valley to bring the patriotic theme together. She loved the sketch and here is the final cake. The topper was a dancing bride and Marine. We hand painted a stripe down the pant leg of the groom to indicate his rank.
The cake was altnernating layers of devilish chocolate and vanilla butter cake with vanilla buttercream and chocolate ganache filling.
Best of Luck!

What an inspirational post! This wedding cake is looking so pretty. I really adore the cake. I would suggest this cake design to my cousin who is going to tie the knot at most popular Seattle venues. If you have more pictures from this wedding then please share that too!
