We created this three-tiered beauty based on Hally's Blue Hydrangea Cake and Jill's Ribbon & Rose Cake .

This three tiered buttercream cake serves 175 people with each tier measuring five inches tall. Fresh flowers adorn the top as well as a small bunch on the side.

We delivered this cake to an outdoor reception on The Porch at the Beverly Yacht Club, in Marion, Massachusetts. The cake flavor included our most popular altnerating layers of chocolate and vanilla cake.

Disney Fairy Cake

We love making this tiered cake for little girls birthdays! What little girl doesn't love fairies, flowers and woodland creatures!

This two tiered fondant cake, covered in a mossy green tinted base has blades of grass placed individually on the base of each tier in variegated tones of green. Five petal pale pink daisies and green sugarpaste leaves along with dark chocolate mushroom add a bit of whimsy to this fun birthday cake.

The cake flavor includes devilish chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream filling with fondant covering.

Gerbera Daisy & Chocolate Wedding Cake @ Independence Harbor, Assonet Massachuetts

One of my favorite venues is the flawless and perfectly kept gardens of Independence Harbor in Assonet Massachusetts. This particular wedding, held on a blustery afternoon in October included gorgeous fresh gerbera daisy blossoms by Nancy and her talented staff at A Wareham Florist. Bright yellows, fushias, oranges and reds were showstopping on this white buttercream cake with tiny hand piped five petal daisy accents. The dark chocolate colored band at the base of each tier is completely edible and hand rolled from dark chocolate sugarpaste and then polished to a satin finish. Piped over the chocolate band is a small base of ivory pearls.

The chilly day was foiled by a fresh fruit cake: vanilla butter cake soaked in vanilla bean syrup with fresh strawberries and buttercream filling.

First Birthday: Minnie Mouse Cake @ Pocasset, Massachusetts

My niece turned one a few weeks ago, she's the only little one in the family so her 1st birthday party was a big deal and she was the princess at the party. Minnie Mouse was the theme and her two tiered cake featured pinks, black, white, and even included seasonal zinnias. Minnie Mouses ears adorned the top along with a big "1".

Here is Makayla's First 1st Birthday Smash Cake!

Here is Makayla decked out in her new Minnie Mouse "couture"!

Her cake included two tiers: one chocolate one vanilla with vanilla buttercream filling all covered in fondant.

Wedding Favors: Cake Truffles

About a six months ago one of our brides asked us to start thinking about creating an incredibly special favor for her wedding reception guests. The bride told us how she has been a bridesmaid in 15 diferent weddings and she was tired of the same old favor set at each place setting. But she also kept talking about these cake truffles she had heard about.

After some contemplation I called Carly at 8:00am on Monday morning with an idea: a box of cake truffles in each each guests' room along with a small bottle of Neige Ice Cider.

I had a few sample boxes sent from a supplier and made them up today, these are not in Carly's colors (brown and blue) but don't they look cute!

We'll have the cake truffles for sale at the holidays as gift boxes with an assortment of four varieties with 15 total truffles per box. They come in a variety of flavors: Three Brothers Hazelnut Chocolate, Raspberry White Chocolate, Lemon Twist, Raspberry Chambord, Cookies & Cream, Brute Chocolate Truffle

Autumn Pleats Wedding Cake @ Cape Cod Private Residence

An intimiate gathering at a breathtaking Classic Cape Cod Home in Dennis, Massachusetts was the backdrop for this fall themed wedding. The bride's dress complete with horizontal pleats was the inspiration for the cake. Not many people are concerned with the back of the cake, but I learned at the end of our consultation that the bride had removed the silver buttoms from her great grandmothers wedding gown to be used as closures on her own- from that moment on - the back of the cake became a priority.

The back of the cake features small silver dusted pearls running from top to bottom. The topper: an arrangement of classic fall blooms in autumnal shades.
Small groupings of flowers create a balanced display, along with tiny white tea roses which were mainstays in the bride's and bridesmaid's bouquets.

The silver tray, one from the mother-of-the bride was a beautiful accent to the cake display.

Cake flavors included: Vanilla Butter Cake with Oreos and Cream filling and Pistachio Cake with Raspberry Buttercream

Anniversary CupCake Display and Cake

We delivered this small cupcake stand and small cake to an anniversary party in Westport, Massachusetts.

The 40 cupcakes were decorated in edible organic nasturshiam blossoms in bright orange, shades of yellow, burgundy, and fushia reds.

Bittersweet Farm is a gorgeous site for small weddings and anniversary gatherings in Westport, Massachusetts and made a great backdrop for our rustic and seasonal floral cupcake design.

Calla Lillies & Vine Wedding Cake @ Marion Road, Rochester, Massachusetts

We created this four tier buttercream wedding cake for a casual outdoor wedding at a private residence in Rochester, Massachusetts.

A chocolate vine with tiny dark chocolate five-petal flowers, with a pearl center, covered the vine along with dark hunter green leaves. A piped buttercream border in varying sizes created a border at the base of each tier & over one dozen white handmade sugarpaste calla lillies cascaded over the top tier.

This design is slightly casual while the calla lillies create a more formal edge.

The cake flavors included vanilla butter cake with raspberry marmalade and devilish chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream.

Fun & Whimsical Wedding Cake

The three tiered buttercreaam designed was hand piped with black swirls, dots, and fun design. Sugarpaste pearls were placed as a border at the base of each tier and a black and white sugarpaste handmade monogram was placed on the side of the top tier.

This hot pink fushia, black, and pearl wedding cake was created for a small wedding ceremony in Taunton, Massachusetts.

This design could easily be translated into a variety of color schemes, or even shades of white and cream for a whimsical addition to a wedding reception.

The cake flavor included vanilla butter cake with buttercream frosting.

Jewel Toned Wedding Cake @ Indian Pond Country Club, Kingston, Massachusetts

I have officially found my favorite wedding & event venue on the South Shore: Indian Pond Country Club @ 60 Country Club Road in Kingston, Massachusetts.

This place is a stunner, we drove the pine-lined drive which opened up to a gorgeous clubhouse and the only word my assistant and I uttered was: "Wow!".

Shades of ivory and small details like raised panel walls, two elaborate mahogany bars, and a high chair rail make the ballroom something reminiscent of Newport, Rhode Island-- however the view of the rolling greens and tall pine trees remind you that you actually are standing on the South Coast of Massachusetts.

The flowers by my new find: Bella Flora by Alexis out of Bridgewater, Massachusetts were breathtaking jewel tones all in seasonal blossoms!

The cake: an ivory four-tier buttercream cake with small piping details: swirl, five petal flowers and scroll work. The decor: seasonal blooms in dark orange, reds, purples, magenta pink, chartreuse green. The blooms: dahlias, zinnias, dendrobium orchids, green spider mums, & spray roses.

A small detail which "made" the whole setup was the hand guilded two-tiered gold board on which the cake sat. This gold pulled from the gold chairs in the ballroom and the gold rimmed chargers set at each guests place setting!

The cake flavor to match the jewel toned wedding: vanilla butter cake with layers of raspberry marmalade and apricot marmalade.

Wedding CupCakes @ Teaticket Path, Falmouth, Massachusetts

We created this floral, seven-tier cupcake display for a simply elegant rustic wedding at a home in Falmouth, Massachusetts.

The fall-themed wedding, held at a classic Cape Cod home overlooking a small inlet on Cape Cod, featured classic New England blooms including hydrangeas, zinnias, mums, mallow flowers, and black eyes susans. All of these blossoms were used scattered here and there on the cupcake tiers. The cupcakes were simply decorated with a sprinkling of edible glitter.

A total of 175 cupcakes covered the cupcake stand and included our new ultimate vanilla butter cake, devilish chocolate cake, red velvet cake all with assorted chocolate and vanilla buttercream.

Lobster Bake Cake @ Falmouth Yacht Club

We created this lobster bake cake for a recent wedding at the Falmouth Yacht Club in Falmouth, Massachusetts on Cape Cod.

In order to create a realistic Cape Cod Clam Bake we hand sculpted ears of corn, three dimensional quahog and clam shells, razor clams, and muscles from sugar paste. Seaweed was also sculpted in all shades of green and sugar sand was added as well.

In order to make this a true Massachusetts cake the cake flavor was Boston Cream: Vanilla Cake layered with Chocolate Ganache Buttercream and Vanilla Pastry Cream!

We delivered the cake to the reception at the Falmouth Yacht Club in Falmouth, Massachusetts.

Here is what they had to say about the cake:

Dear Meredith,
Thank you so much for the amazing lobster cake. It was perfect (and delicious), and everybody loved it!!!
Cheers,
-Chris

Victory Garden Cake

We created this classic vegetable garden themed buttercream cake for a 50th birthday. Complete with sugarpaste eggplant, split rail fence, cucumbers, tomatoes, squash, a little cake and sugar "dirt", shovel spade, and wheel barrow, this garden was complete!

The "50" plaque brought in the accent colors of charcoal and metallic gold.

We consider this type of decor to be "flat art" and is created by hand and takes many hours of sculpting by our two talented artists!

The cake flavor included alternating layers of chocolate and vanilla with oreos and cream filling and was delivered to a home in Acushnet, Massachusetts.

The cake flavor was a delicious Devilish Chocolate Cake with a Toasted Coconut-Mounds inspired filling.

Sculpted Cake: Model T Engine Cake

We created this car engine cake for an 80th Birthday this weekend. The cake replica of a Ford Model T Engine was sculpted in full size to match the original engine. The best part of the story: the customers brought the actual engine to the bakery rather than supplying us with photos. It was such fun perfecting the lettering, cylinders, and other engine parts.

A fan was sculpted from sugarpaste, and then sugar bolts & screws were added - just like the real thing.

The spark plugs to the engine were sculpted out of gumpaste with a flame on top to represent candles.

Our final product measured 20" long by 16" wide and 16" tall.

The car engine cake was delivered to a party in Acushnet, Massachusetts.

Baby Shower Cake: Lambs & Ivy Team Safari

We created this "Lambs & Ivy Team Safari" cake based off of a Baby's R' Us line of bedding, furniture, and clothes. The lion which we created out of sugarpaste and sat on the ledge of the cake. We found the picture of the lion on this lamp below.

Blue and brown color schemes have become very popular for baby showers and create an elegant look, we really enjoy creating cakes around browns and blues.

The cake flavor was alternating layers of chocolate and vanilla, and was delivered to a home in Attleboro Massachusetts.

Baby Shower Cake: Safari Monkey

This monkey cake was made especially for a baby shower in Boston, Massachusetts. The brown and blue shower was accented with a moneky theme.

This cake was used as a centerpiece for the main shower dessert: cupcakes.
The idea was based on our popular giraffe baby shower cake which can be seen HERE

The cake flavor included devilish chocolate with vanilla buttercream and cupcakes included vanilla butter or devilish chocolate with assorted vanilla and chocolate ganache buttercream.

This fun and whimsical cake design is great for baby showers with tiny booties on the top of the cake, for birthdays frosted in bright pink with custom brightly colored daisies or for weddings with white daisies with pale yellow centers topped with a silver monogram.

The cake flavor included alternating layers of chocolate and vanilla cake with our signature bakery icing.

Seashore Themed Cake

We created these cakes for a party at The Bay Club in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts.

Dual parties for three teenagers with a theme of the sea shore with pale seafoams, shades of blue and ocean greens were on the table for the color scheme. We created a round three tiered whimsical wave cake design with a pale seafoam background and dark "tiffany blue" wave pattern around the circumference of each tier. The topper included three real starfish each representative of the three girls.

The second cake is a mod circle design also in ocean and sea colors to match the decor and floral centerpieces at the event.

These two cakes show the diversity of color and shape and how similar yet different cakes in the same color scheme can be.

A Novel Idea! Skeleton Justice: It's Dr. Baden's Birthday
