Gerbera Daisy & Chocolate Wedding Cake @ Independence Harbor, Assonet Massachuetts

One of my favorite venues is the flawless and perfectly kept gardens of Independence Harbor in Assonet Massachusetts. This particular wedding, held on a blustery afternoon in October included gorgeous fresh gerbera daisy blossoms by Nancy and her talented staff at A Wareham Florist. Bright yellows, fushias, oranges and reds were showstopping on this white buttercream cake with tiny hand piped five petal daisy accents. The dark chocolate colored band at the base of each tier is completely edible and hand rolled from dark chocolate sugarpaste and then polished to a satin finish. Piped over the chocolate band is a small base of ivory pearls.

The chilly day was foiled by a fresh fruit cake: vanilla butter cake soaked in vanilla bean syrup with fresh strawberries and buttercream filling.

Calla Lillies & Vine Wedding Cake @ Marion Road, Rochester, Massachusetts

We created this four tier buttercream wedding cake for a casual outdoor wedding at a private residence in Rochester, Massachusetts.

A chocolate vine with tiny dark chocolate five-petal flowers, with a pearl center, covered the vine along with dark hunter green leaves. A piped buttercream border in varying sizes created a border at the base of each tier & over one dozen white handmade sugarpaste calla lillies cascaded over the top tier.

This design is slightly casual while the calla lillies create a more formal edge.

The cake flavors included vanilla butter cake with raspberry marmalade and devilish chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream.
