Birthday Cake: Knitting Needles and Yarn
Quite frequently, customers watch shows on the Food Network or TLC such as Ace of Cakes, Cake Challenges, and Ultimate Cake Off. The cakes on these programs are quite elaborate and tend to be expensive. Here are a few pictures that one of our clients sent to us but only had $35.00 budget...we created this cake to fit into his budget.
It is a 7" Round Buttercream Cake with Custom Sugarpaste Decor of knitting needles and bright and bold balls of yarn:

These are the cake pictures that he originally sent us from Pink Cake Box and other fine cake establishments:

Twins Polka Dots Birthday Cake
We created these two birthday cakes for twins: a boy and a girl. One is a fan or chocolate cake, the other of vanilla. The mom who ordered the two cakes asked if they could match in style but have one in teals and blues and the other in girlie colors. Polka dots are a great design for all ages! The cakes were frosted in our Bakery Style Icing a much sweeter kid-friendly icing it is much much sweeter than our traditional Italian buttercream

The Artisan Kitchen
First Birthdays and Baby Showers have been the resounding theme in our fun and whimsical cake world. Dana has been kneading gumpaste and fondant like a mad-man lately, and we've been sculpting and wiring shamrocks, curls, and pearls.
Here is St. Patrick's Day theme first birthday cake delivered to a home in Acushnet, MA! Many shades of brights greens, oranges, reds, and blues covered his fun buttercream cake while bouncy green shamrocks waved in the breeze. We covered the table in bright polka dots to tie it all together. Aidan also had a smash cake covered in polka dots and stripes.
This buttercream cake design is the most popular for our customers who aren't the biggest fan of fondant, but still want a colotful, fun design. I love this design as it can be easily converted for a little girl's first birthday cake, in all colors of pink with a hearts floating about.
